About The Role
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, preparation of payment runs, and maintenance of vendor master data. This role is a 6-month fixed term contract. It ensures strong financial controls and supports the Finance team in meeting operational and compliance requirements.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end vendor payment runs, including preparation, processing in Business Central, and ensuring timely bank approvals and accurate allocation of payments.
- Create and maintain vendor accounts, including validating new vendor details, updating banking information, and ensuring accuracy of master data.
- Support audit processes by compiling requested documentation and responding to auditor queries in a timely manner.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving any discrepancies to ensure accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
- Deliver ad hoc reporting and assist with financial queries as required across the team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities for process optimisation and automation.
Skills & Experience - Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role, with a solid understanding of end-to-end AP processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through research and analysis.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening), with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with ERP systems (ideally Business Central) and exposure to regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or FMCG highly regarded; experience in periods of organisational change or transformation is advantageous
