About The Role
As DBG Health and Arrotex continue a significant transformation, the Head of Market Access plays a critical leadership role in shaping how our medicines reach patients. This role ensures our portfolio achieves optimal reimbursement, pricing, and access outcomes during a period of organisational and industry evolution.
Reporting to the CEO, Pharmaceuticals, you will lead the development and execution of market access strategy across Australia and New Zealand, overseeing PBAC submissions, PHARMAC engagement, pricing governance, HEOR strategy, and alternative access pathways. You will provide strategic leadership on payer engagement, evidence generation, and value demonstration while partnering closely with Regulatory, Medical, Commercial, and Government Affairs teams to ensure enterprise alignment.
This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced Market Access executive who thrives in complexity, brings deep technical and commercial expertise, and is motivated by influencing national reimbursement decisions and improving patient access to medicines.
Role and Responsibilities
- Lead the overall market access strategy across the portfolio, including PBS and PBAC submissions, PHARMAC engagement, pricing governance, and post-listing optimisation.
- Oversee development of integrated value strategies combining clinical evidence, HEOR modelling, and commercial insights to support reimbursement and pricing outcomes.
- Drive pricing strategy and governance to ensure sustainable net pricing, competitiveness, and alignment with PBS and PHARMAC frameworks.
- Lead preparation of high-quality reimbursement submissions aligned to PBAC and PHARMAC processes, including pre-submission strategy, dossier development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Oversee HEOR strategy including cost-effectiveness modelling, budget impact analysis, real-world evidence generation, and value communication.
- Develop and implement innovative access solutions including risk-sharing agreements, managed entry schemes, compassionate access programs, and private market pathways where appropriate.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including PBAC, PHARMAC, Department of Health, payers, clinical experts, and industry bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and governance requirements including TGA standards, Medicines Australia Code, and New Zealand Medicines Industry guidelines.
- Lead, coach, and develop the Market Access and HEOR teams, building a high-performing, collaborative and accountable function.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders in Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial, and Government Affairs to ensure aligned lifecycle and launch strategies.
Skills & Experience - Extensive senior leadership experience in Market Access, Pricing, HEOR, or Reimbursement within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisation.
- Deep expertise in PBAC/PBS processes and PHARMAC funding and listing pathways, including proven success in reimbursement submissions and negotiations.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical pricing frameworks, government funding models, and payer decision-making in regulated markets.
- Demonstrated experience leading high-impact HTA submissions supported by robust economic modelling and value demonstration.
- Advanced capability in HEOR methodologies including cost-effectiveness, budget impact modelling, and real-world evidence generation and interpretation.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing specialist teams across Market Access, Pricing, or HEOR functions.
- Strong external stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to influence government bodies, payers, advisory committees, and clinical stakeholders.
- Experience designing and implementing innovative access models including risk-sharing arrangements, managed entry schemes, and alternative funding pathways.
- Strong commercial acumen with ability to align access strategy with broader business and portfolio objectives.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Economics, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications (MBA or equivalent) highly regarded.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Market Access or related roles within pharmaceuticals or a highly regulated healthcare environment.
