About the Role
The Commercial lead is responsible for driving commercial strategy, execution, and performance for the assigned therapeutic area across Australia and New Zealand. This role is central to our transformation efforts, ensuring commercial excellence, disciplined execution, and strong cross-functional alignment as we evolve our operating model and capabilities.
The Commercial Lead holds full accountability for financial outcomes, market performance, competitive positioning, and portfolio strategy. Operating with high autonomy, this position partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Pricing, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance to deliver integrated commercial plans. Success requires strong commercial acumen, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to execute effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

Role and Responsibilities
- Full P&L accountability for the therapeutic area, including revenue delivery, forecasting accuracy, pricing decisions, cost management and disciplined budget allocation across Australia and New Zealand.
- Development and ownership of commercial business plans that integrate forecasts, market access milestones, promotional investment and portfolio prioritisation to drive sustained growth.
- Monitoring financial performance through defined KPIs, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to support profitability and long‑term portfolio value.
- Development and management of compliant multichannel marketing strategies that align with the Medicines Australia Code, TGA regulations and internal governance standards.
- Leadership of KOL engagement strategies through advisory boards, education initiatives and scientific exchange to strengthen advocacy and support clinical adoption.
- Execution of competitive analyses, market landscape assessments and value‑proposition refinement to support differentiation and commercial strategy.
- Use of CRM insights, sales analytics and market research to guide agile decision‑making, optimise campaigns and improve resource allocation.
- Optimisation of sales team effectiveness through targeted coaching, incentive programs, territory planning and strategic field execution.
- Engagement with payers and hospitals to drive formulary inclusion, tender success and reimbursement alignment in partnership with Market Access and Pricing teams.
- Leadership of commercial team capability, performance management and talent development to foster accountability, collaboration and a high‑performing culture.
Skills and Experience - Extensive commercial strategy experience across product launches, lifecycle management, go‑to‑market planning and P&L optimisation.
- Strong sales‑leadership capability, including incentive design, territory optimisation and driving field force effectiveness.
- Proven experience delivering compliant multichannel marketing, KOL engagement and promotional execution under the Medicines Australia Code and TGA requirements.
- Solid understanding of market access processes, including PBS/PBAC pathways, tender strategy, payer negotiation and reimbursement considerations.
- Advanced analytical capability with expertise in CRM systems, forecasting, scenario modelling and competitive intelligence to inform commercial decision‑making.
- Demonstrated cross‑functional leadership, aligning sales, marketing, medical, regulatory, pricing and finance functions to deliver integrated outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks governing pharmaceutical promotion and healthcare‑professional engagement across ANZ.
- At least eight years of pharmaceutical sales or commercial experience with a strong record of exceeding revenue targets.
- A minimum of three years in sales or commercial leadership roles overseeing teams, territories and incentive programs.
- Successful track record in launching pharmaceutical products in line with Medicines Australia Code and TGA regulatory requirements, supported by effective KOL and payer engagement.
