About the Role
The Market Access Manager, Innovative Medicines plays a key role in ensuring patients gain timely access to innovative therapies across Australia and New Zealand. The role supports the development and execution of market access strategies, contributing to reimbursement, pricing, and access outcomes for the portfolio.
Lead reimbursement submissions and support pricing and access strategies across New Zealand. Partner cross-functionally with Pricing, HEOR, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to ensure aligned market access execution.

Role and Responsibilities
- Shape access strategies by developing and implementing comprehensive market access plans for new launches and existing products across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring optimal reimbursement, PHARMAC New Zealand funding and hospital formulary access.
- Ensure strategic alignment with business objectives, integrating commercial forecasts, HEOR evidence, pricing models, and regulatory timelines to maximise patient access and revenue potential.
- Influence policy and pricing by analysing payer priorities, competitive activity and market trends to identify risks, opportunities and the most effective pricing and reimbursement pathways.
- Collaborate across internal teams by working closely with Pricing, HEOR, Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Commercial colleagues to deliver coordinated launch and lifecycle access strategies.
- Maintain full compliance with Medicines New Zealand Code of Practice, PHARMAC guidelines, and ethical standards in all strategy development and stakeholder interactions.
- Optimise patient access by leading cross‑functional initiatives designed to improve affordability, availability and timely access while supporting commercial and revenue objectives
Skills and Experience - Deep ANZ market knowledge demonstrated through a comprehensive understanding of PHARMAC New Zealand funding pathways, hospital formularies, pricing rules and ongoing policy reforms.
- Proven market access experience gained over five to seven years or more in market access, pricing or HEOR roles within pharmaceuticals or biotech, including direct Australia and New Zealand responsibility and success leading PBS/PBAC submissions and PHARMAC negotiations.
- Strategic and analytical expertise reflected in the ability to develop market access strategies, construct pricing scenarios, lead risk assessments and use market data, datasets and competitor benchmarks to inform actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability, with experience building relationships with payers, policymakers, hospital P&T committees and cross‑functional teams including Pricing, HEOR, Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Commercial.
- Demonstrated project and submission management capability, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets and cross‑functional deliverables in fast‑paced regulatory and reimbursement environments.
- Relevant qualifications such as Health Economics, Commerce, Pharmacy or Public Health, with HEOR certification considered advantageous, along with expert understanding of the Medicines Australia Code, PBS Rules and government engagement protocols
