About The Role
Join DBG Health as a Payroll Officer who supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintains employee records, and verifies payroll calculations. The role assists with compliance across payroll, taxation, and benefits, and may support payroll reporting and analysis. This position contributes to the efficient operation of the payroll function and a positive employee experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring accuracy, data integrity, and timely submissions (including STIP, superannuation, payroll tax, and workers' compensation)
- Responding to employee payroll queries.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting, including month-end and year-end reports, balance sheet reconciliations, novated leases, audits, and payroll reporting for Finance and People & Culture.
- Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, governance requirements, and internal policies and procedures, working closely with People & Culture to ensure adherence.
- Contribute to payroll system maintenance, testing, user support, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, automation, and payroll practices.
- Demonstrate a collaborative, agile, and customer-focused mindset, upholding organisational values, confidentiality, and health, safety, and wellbeing standards while supporting broader business needs as required.
Skills & Experience - Minimum 3 years payroll experience across multi-state environments, and strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience with iChris or related payroll systems is required, supported by advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning skills, with a proactive approach and the ability to identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, able to meet regular payroll deadlines while managing competing priorities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
- Tertiary qualifications are required, and exposure to the pharmaceutical industry is highly regarded.
