About The Role
The Senior Medical Affairs Associate plays a pivotal role in shaping the scientific voice of our prescription and OTC portfolio. You'll lead medical strategy, provide expert oversight of promotional materials, and ensure all activities meet the highest ethical and compliance standards.
Acting as a portfolio lead and trusted subject matter expert, you'll partner closely with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and healthcare professionals to deliver meaningful medical initiatives, training, and insights that support both patients and business outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute medical affairs strategy across the portfolio to support business objectives, product lifecycle management, and compliant promotional activity.
- Act as portfolio SME, providing scientific leadership, clinical data interpretation, literature reviews, and medical insights to support cross-functional, sales, and marketing teams.
- Provide oversight of the promotional review process, ensuring compliance with CHP, TGAC, relevant industry codes, local regulations, and company policies, while collaborating with Scientific Affairs on continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Lead external scientific engagement, building strong relationships with KOLs and HCPs, representing the company at conferences, symposia, and advisory boards, and supporting evidence generation activities.
- Deliver medical education and operational support, including internal and external training, medical information responses, launch materials, safety updates, and ongoing capability uplift.
- Ensure medical governance and compliance, overseeing pharmacovigilance activities and contributing to the development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions, and quality systems.
Skills & Experience - 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience, supporting medical strategy execution, promotional review, and portfolio management across prescription and OTC medicines
- Strong working knowledge and application of Australian advertising codes, including CHP, TGAC, MA, and GBMA, and a sound understanding of pharmacovigilance legislation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information, influence outcomes, and build trusted relationships across internal teams, HCPs, and external partners.
- Highly developed organisational, time management, and analytical skills, enabling effective prioritisation of competing demands, proactive risk identification, and delivery of high-quality outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to quality.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy or Life Sciences (postgraduate qualifications desirable).
