About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Brand Manager to act as the strategic and tactical lead for a key oncology pharmaceutical client within AXE Health Services.
This role is responsible for end-to-end brand planning, medical content alignment, and integrated marketing execution across the oncology therapeutic area. As the primary client partner, you will translate business objectives into clear brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and multichannel campaigns, while ensuring scientific accuracy, compliance, and commercial impact.
Reporting into senior leadership, this role will lead client strategy, oversee execution across HCP and patient channels, manage budgets, and drive performance outcomes. You will also have direct line management responsibility for an Associate Brand Manager.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic development of oncology brand plans, value propositions, scientific narratives, and annual campaign frameworks
- Translate clinical, competitive, and market insights into actionable brand strategies and tactical plans
- Own go-to-market strategy and campaign phasing across HCP and relevant patient channels
- Drive alignment between client objectives, commercial strategy, and medical positioning
- Work alongside field teams to support execution
- Oversee development of medical and promotional content including HCP materials, educational resources, digital assets, and event collateral
- Ensure scientific accuracy, compliance, and consistency across all materials
- Partner with medical writers and subject matter experts to validate claims and narratives
- Manage integrated marketing programs tailored to oncology insights
- Act as the primary point of contact for the oncology pharmaceutical client
- Build strong, trusted client partnerships and provide strategic counsel
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams
- Manage external agencies and partners to ensure high-quality delivery
- Lead analysis of campaign performance, brand KPIs, and HCP engagement metrics
- Present clear, data-driven insights and recommendations
- Manage client budgets, scopes of work, forecasting, and financial tracking
- Ensure efficient allocation of resources and delivery against commercial objective
Skills & Experience - Strong strategic marketing capability with a medical mindset
- Deep understanding of oncology or specialty care
- Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear commercial strategy
- Excellent project, stakeholder, and agency management skills
- Strong communication, analytical, and presentation capability
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital platforms
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical marketing
- Proven experience managing pharmaceutical clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience working with medical, legal, and regulatory review processes
- Demonstrated success delivering integrated HCP campaigns
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Science, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science, or a related healthcare field
- Occasional interstate travel for meetings, events, or conferences
