About the role:
The Packaging Technologist will be responsible for developing, validating, optimizing and implementing packaging
solutions to meet VidaCorp Consumer Brands product requirements, safety standards, and sustainability goals. This candidate can based either out of our Sydney CBD office (Market St) or Melbourne Cremorne office (Church St).
you will be working with cross-functional teams, this role works across Health, Wellness and Beauty brands to
ensure packaging data and documentation are collected, validated and updated in our systems as
well as ready for packaging compliance reports across different markets (AU, UE and USA).
Role & Responsibilities:
- Collect and validate packaging specifications and documentation from external suppliers
- Maintain and regularly update internal databases to ensure packaging data accuracy and completeness
- Ensure all packaging data is validated, audit-ready, and aligned with reporting requirements
- Conduct recyclability assessments using tools such as PREP and How2Recycle
- Support the Head of Department with compliance initiatives and sustainability reporting
- Participate in the review of NPD briefs and contribute to the definition of packaging specifications
- Provide support to the QA department in resolving packaging-related issues
- Ensure packaging practices comply with relevant regulatory requirements and sustainability targets
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including suppliers, QA, and internal stakeholders
- Deliver accurate and timely packaging data to support internal reporting and decision-making processes
Skills & Experience: - 3–5 years of industry experience in packaging within cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or FMCG
- Demonstrated expertise in sustainable packaging, circular economy principles, and materials science
- Strong understanding of how packaging decisions affect supply chain efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in recyclability assessment tools, including PREP
- Experienced in working with a wide range of packaging formats and materials
- Strong analytical, communication, and attention-to-detail skills
- Highly self-motivated with a proven ability to operate effectively in cross-functional teams
- Holds a degree in Engineering, Science, Food Science, or possesses equivalent experience in manufacturing QA/Operations
- Willing and able to travel interstate 1–2 times per month to support packaging data validation across sites
