Our client, a highly regarded New Zealand-owned project advisory consultancy, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects in Wellington. With a strong reputation across Education, Transport, Health, Airports, and Ports sectors, our client delivers exceptional results by partnering closely with their clients to optimize Kiwi infrastructure.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to take charge of large-scale infrastructure projects (valued at $40M+). The role involves leading project teams, managing client relationships, and contributing to the leadership and development of high-performing teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their objectives and aligning project outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and foster the professional growth of team members.
• Prepare and implement tailored project management plans.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate risks for successful project outcomes.
• Represent the organization at industry events by presenting technical insights.
• Support business development efforts, including proposals and tenders.

About You:

• 10–15 years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in a related field.
• Expertise in water, road, or rail projects is highly desirable.
• Established networks with organizations such as NZTA, Wellington Water, Kiwirail, or local councils are a bonus.
• Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a focus on relationship building.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high standards.
• Commercial acumen with experience managing project financials.
