As part of their expansion strategy, our client is opening a new branch in Hawkes Bay and is looking for a driven and dynamic Regional Manager to lead this initiative.
About the Role
As the Regional Manager for their new Hawkes Bay branch, you will play a pivotal role in establishing their presence in the region. Your primary responsibilities will include business development to secure new projects and overseeing the delivery of these projects to ensure they meet their high standards of quality and client satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Strategy: Develop and manage a comprehensive business plan and budget for the region.
- Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the civil business, including customer relations, business development, and project execution.
- Relationship Management: Build and nurture strategic relationships with clients and partners.
- Portfolio Management: Develop customer and project targets, and create pursuit plans.
- Team Development: Lead, support, and mentor the team, ensuring they have the resources and training needed.
- Tender Management: Prepare, review, and approve tenders and commercial offerings, balancing risk and opportunity.
- Contract Oversight: Manage construction contracts, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure effective risk management.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to quality, HSE, and environmental standards, and promote a safety-focused work culture.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving business processes and productivity.
- Representation: Promote the company’s values and maintain a professional image at all times.
About You
- Minimum of 10 years in civil construction engineering, with a proven record of high-quality project delivery as a project manager, contracts manager, or similar role.
- Of this, at least 3 years of experience working in New Zealand
- Managed a minimum of 3 projects valued over $10 million, including at least 1 project over $20 million.
- Proven experience managing a branch or division of an engineering or construction organization, including P&L responsibility.
- Experience in a business development role within the engineering or construction industries
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Tertiary qualification in business or management
- Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand (Desirable)
