Contracts Manager – Civil Infrastructure

Our client is a trusted name in the civil engineering and infrastructure space, known for delivering high-quality roading, water, and industrial projects. With a growing pipeline of work, they are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager to take the reins on key projects and help drive continued success.
 
 
The Role:
As the Contracts Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of civil infrastructure projects—from early planning and procurement through to execution and final handover. You’ll lead site and office-based teams, ensuring that quality, timelines, and financial targets are met.
 
 
Day to day in the role:

• Manage civil projects from start to finish
• Lead and coordinate project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations
• Build strong, positive relationships with clients, councils, and other key stakeholders
• Monitor project budgets, track variations, and manage commercial outcomes
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation on-site

Experience / Qualifications required

• Demonstrated experience as a Project or Contracts Manager in civil construction
• Background in roading, water, or general infrastructure projects
• Strong leadership, communication, and commercial management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and foster team collaboration
• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
• Familiarity with NZS3910 and related contract frameworks is an advantage
