We are seeking a compassionate and engaging support person to become part of a small, established team supporting a friendly young woman to enjoy an active, fulfilling and connected life. This is a unique opportunity to build a supportive relationship while providing encouragement, companionship and practical assistance to help her participate in activities, social opportunities and community experiences.

About the Role
Based in Cambridge, this casual support role offers a mix of regular and occasional support, including:
- Providing transport and companionship to attend a regular weekly activity, typically around 2 hours and up to 4 hours per week.
- Accompanying and supporting weekends away approximately one in every three weekends, from approximately 4.00pm Friday - 4.00 pm Sunday.
- Supporting participation in social, recreational and community activities.
- Encouraging confidence, independence and positive life experiences.
- Assisting with day-to-day routines and meal preparation when required.
- Providing live-in respite support for periods of one to three weeks each year.
- Occasional live-in support over the Christmas period.
This role offers flexibility while providing consistent involvement in a close-knit support team.
About You You enjoy connecting with people and helping others thrive. You bring warmth, patience, maturity and reliability to everything you do.
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience providing support, companionship, mentoring, caregiving or community-based assistance.
- An understanding of neurodiversity, or an interest in psychology or related fields.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build supportive and trusting relationships.
- A calm, caring and respectful approach.
- Good judgement, flexibility and a positive outlook.
- A sense of humour and a willingness to get involved.
- A commitment to being a dependable member of a small support team.
You will also need to:
- Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
- Be confident driving and transporting others.
