We are recruiting an experienced and relationship-focused General Manager Aged Care to lead our Rest Home, Dementia and Continuing Care (Hospital) operations, overseeing two separate facilities in Cambridge. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership position provides an exciting opportunity to influence the future direction of our aged care services while ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care and support.

About the Role
As General Manager Aged Care, you will provide overall leadership of our aged care operations, ensuring excellence across service delivery, people leadership, financial performance, quality systems, compliance, and community engagement.
  
You will work closely with clinical managers and operational teams to create an environment where residents thrive, staff are supported, and continuous improvement is embedded throughout the organisation.
  
Experience within the aged care sector and knowledge of New Zealand health sector requirements is essential for this position. 
  
Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and inspiring multidisciplinary teams across clinical and associated non-clinical services.
• Driving values-based, professional leadership, operational excellence and an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
• Overseeing financial performance, budgeting, occupancy, resource management and optimisation.
• Ensuring practice aligns with Nursing Council of New Zealand competencies, Health & Disability Services Standards and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Ensuring compliance with Health New Zealand contracts, audits and regulatory requirements.
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives and best-practice aged care services.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents, families, staff, community stakeholders and professional partners.
• Contributing to strategic planning and organisational growth.
• Promoting Cambridge Resthaven as a trusted and valued community organisation.

You are an experienced people leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes for older people and their families.

You will bring:

• Senior leadership experience within aged care, healthcare, disability or a related sector.
• Strong financial and business management capability.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
• Knowledge of quality systems, compliance and continuous improvement processes.
• Previous change management experience.
• Strong organisational and decision-making skills.
• A collaborative, values-based leadership style.
• A genuine commitment to service excellence and resident wellbeing.
