Application Analyst & Developer (.NET)

Location: Hybrid in Cincinnati

About the Role
We are seeking an Application Analyst & Developer (.NET) to join a high-impact engineering team focused on modernizing a rapidly growing Risk Solutions platform. This platform currently supports a $600M–$700M business unit, with a strategic goal of exceeding $1B in revenue.
This is a multi-year initiative aimed at accelerating delivery, improving automation, and enhancing system capabilities through modern engineering practices and AI-driven solutions.

You will work primarily on backend, headless applications, contributing to a diverse set of projects that support business-critical workflows.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain backend services and headless applications using C#/.NET
• Contribute to modernization efforts across a mixed technology stack (.NET Framework and modern .NET)
• Build and enhance automation workflows, including solutions that extract and process data from unstructured sources (e.g., email)
• Integrate with internal services and APIs to support business processes
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve productivity and solution quality
• Analyze logs, metrics, and system behavior to troubleshoot and optimize performance
• Collaborate with team members in a highly iterative, feedback-driven environment
• Quickly learn and contribute within a large, evolving codebase

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend solutions
• Work across both legacy and modern .NET environments
• Support data processing and transformation workflows
• Contribute to system reliability, performance, and maintainability
• Participate in Agile development practices and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in C#/.NET development
• Experience working with both .NET Framework and modern .NET (Core/6/8+)
• Strong backend development experience (APIs, services, or headless applications)
• Ability to analyze and work within large, complex codebases
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience working with structured and/or unstructured data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Experience with automation workflows, data extraction, or document processing
• Familiarity with SOAP/XML-based integrations
• Experience working in MacOS environments using JetBrains Rider
• Exposure to cloud-native or containerized environments (Kubernetes, Azure, etc.)
• Experience in insurance, risk, or financial services

Technical Environment

• Languages/Frameworks: C# / .NET (Framework 4.8 through modern .NET)
• Application Type: Headless backend services (no UI development)
• Development Tools: JetBrains Rider (MacOS environment)
• Data Access: Service-based architecture (Snowflake and other sources abstracted)
• Integration: APIs, SOAP/XML (legacy systems)
• AI Enablement: GitHub Copilot and related tools
