Job 2068 — Senior Python Data Migration Engineer
Location: Remote (EST / CST)
Senior Python Data Migration Engineer We are seeking a Senior Python Data Migration Engineer to lead complex, enterprise-scale data migration initiatives involving large datasets, payments ecosystem data, and secure entitlement provisioning.
This role requires deep expertise in Python-based data transformation, SQL optimization, and modern ETL/ELT pipeline design, along with experience working in regulated or internet-facing commercial environments.
The ideal candidate will be capable of leading migration strategy, designing scalable transformation frameworks, and ensuring data integrity, security, and performance across evolving enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end data migration and transformation initiatives using Python
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large datasets
- Build and optimize complex SQL queries and database processes (Snowflake preferred)
- Transform and validate complex JSON data structures
- Support payments-related data models and entitlement provisioning workflows
- Ensure data security, quality, and compliance throughout migration lifecycle
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams
- Produce technical documentation and migration runbooks
Required Qualifications - 8+ years professional Python development experience
- Strong SQL and relational database expertise (Snowflake preferred)
- Experience designing and executing large-scale data migrations
- Hands-on experience with JSON schema design and transformation
- Experience with payments systems, entitlements, or access provisioning
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Experience - Enterprise financial services or regulated industry experience
- Experience working in ambiguous migration environments
- Exposure to identity/access management data models
- Strong independent execution capability
