Platform Engineer III

We are seeking a Platform Engineer III to support and modernize enterprise banking platforms within a highly regulated financial environment. This role blends platform engineering, mainframe systems expertise, and business/technical analysis, making it ideal for a professional who can translate complex banking requirements into reliable, scalable technical solutions.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in mainframe environments, system conversions, and cross-functional collaboration—acting as a trusted bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams.
What You’ll DoPlatform & Systems Engineering

• Support and enhance core banking platforms, primarily within mainframe environments
• Contribute to platform stability, scalability, and long-term modernization initiatives
• Assist with system conversions, integrations, and migrations, ensuring data integrity and minimal business disruption
• Partner with development teams to implement technical changes driven by business needs

Business & Technical Analysis

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements across banking products and services
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications
• Conduct gap analysis between current and future-state platforms
• Recommend process, system, and data improvements

Testing & Quality

• Support system testing, validation, and reconciliation during platform changes
• Participate in UAT and post-conversion validation efforts
• Ensure compliance with SDLC, audit, and regulatory requirements

Collaboration & Communication

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, platform engineers, and development teams
• Facilitate requirement reviews, design discussions, and issue resolution
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation for systems, workflows, and conversions

Required Skills & QualificationsMust Have

• Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Business and Technical Analysis experience
• Mainframe development or support experience
• Platform engineering experience within enterprise systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

• COBOL and/or Assembler experience
• Acquisition or system integration experience
• Banking M&A or conversion experience
• Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, or platform consolidations

Domain Knowledge

• Banking systems and products (deposits, loans, payments, customer accounts)
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and testing practices
• Understanding of enterprise system architecture
