Fullstack Engineer II
Location: Cincinnati, OH – Onsite (Blue Ash Campus, 4 days/week)

Overview We are seeking an experienced Fullstack Engineer with strong backend expertise in Java and Spring Framework to join a mission-critical supply chain modernization initiative. This role focuses on developing and enhancing a new Azure-based integration service that connects Kroger’s internal services with Manhattan Associates’ MAWM SaaS solution for warehouse, transportation, and labor management.
This engineer will play a pivotal role in building performant, scalable services that drive operational efficiency across the supply chain ecosystem. While the emphasis is on backend engineering, the position also provides opportunities to contribute to Angular front-end development for internal warehouse claims processing and reporting tools.

Top Skills & QualificationsMust Have

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development using Java and Spring Framework (Boot, Data, Cloud).
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure).
• Working knowledge of Angular (v10+) for front-end contributions.
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience in supply chain, warehouse management systems (WMS), or logistics.
• Familiarity with claims processing workflows in warehouse or retail environments.
• Knowledge of Kroger’s internal systems, data structures, and enterprise architecture.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Agile development methodologies.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot for Kroger’s AMIS integration layer.
• Build and manage data integrations between Kroger’s Azure-based platforms and Manhattan (TMS, WMS, LMS) systems.
• Enhance and optimize existing services to improve scalability and performance in warehouse operations.
• Contribute to Angular front-end applications supporting internal tools and claims processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, QA, and supply chain solution architects.
• Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Support troubleshooting and performance tuning across distributed systems.
• Ensure all integrations align with enterprise security and compliance standards.
