Job Title: Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer III
Location: Onsite – Cincinnati, OH (Madisonville)

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and visionary Data Architect / Principal Data Engineer III to lead the modernization and engineering of enterprise-grade data platforms that power Disputes Operations and related functions across the bank. This individual will design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that integrate seamlessly with core banking systems, ServiceNow FSO, AdjustmentHub, and NetReveal. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset—capable of architecting robust data solutions while mentoring team members and driving data excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement end-to-end data solutions that support analytics, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, and operational efficiency.
• Develop high-performance data pipelines using DataStage, DBT, and Elevate to enable reliable data flow across multiple domains.
• Build and maintain data models, marts, and warehouses in Snowflake, ensuring consistency, scalability, and adherence to enterprise data standards.
• Integrate streaming data via Kafka and build near-real-time data products for business-critical operations.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and MettleCI to ensure fast, reliable deployments.
• Drive best practices for data governance, metadata management, and data quality monitoring across the platform.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align data architecture with strategic priorities.
• Leverage Python, SQL, and Java for automation, data validation, and process orchestration.
• Support and enforce security and compliance standards required in a regulated banking environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization’s data engineering maturity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, and ETL/ELT pipeline design.
• Strong hands-on expertise with IBM DataStage, DBT, Kafka, and Snowflake.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Java, and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD automation (Jenkins, MettleCI, GitHub).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data modeling, metadata management, and data governance principles.
• Prior experience working in financial services or other regulated industries strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills in Agile/SAFe environments.
