Job Title: Software Engineer – Business Analyst III
Location: Cincinnati, OH (Onsite)
Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer – Business Analyst III to join our Platform Engineering and Process Optimization team. This hybrid role blends technical software development, data automation, and Lean Six Sigma-driven process improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing existing operational processes across IT and business functions, identifying automation opportunities, and implementing scalable solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, and other Microsoft Power Platform tools.
This position plays a pivotal role in improving visibility, risk mitigation, and reporting across mission-critical processes such as vulnerability management, certificate renewal, disaster recovery, SOP renewal, and end-of-life management. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical acumen, data visualization experience, and the ability to drive measurable operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement initiatives leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt preferred).
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and Power Automate workflows to automate and enhance operational visibility across IT domains.
- Perform end-to-end software development, including requirements analysis, design, coding, debugging, testing, and deployment.
- Optimize and automate workflows for:
- Vulnerability Management Process Optimization
- Certificate Renewal & Management
- Disaster Recovery (DR) Tracking & Reporting
- SOP Renewal Notifications
- End-of-Life (EOL) Software Tracking
- Develop actionable analytics and reporting solutions to ensure leadership transparency into process health, risks, and KPIs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with IT teams, line-of-business partners, and compliance to ensure operational alignment.
- Maintain high standards of software quality assurance, documentation, and performance tuning.
- Identify emerging technologies to drive efficiency and scalability.
Required Skills & Experience - 2+ years of Power BI development (Report Builder, Desktop, Service).
- 3–10 years of software development experience in any modern programming language (C#, Python, Java, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate for workflow automation.
- Proven ability to integrate software with enterprise data sources (SQL Server, REST APIs, SharePoint, etc.).
- Strong foundation in Lean Six Sigma; Green Belt certification highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of SDLC, requirements gathering, and project management principles.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills - Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments or retail/consumer industries.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Archer, and IT risk/compliance systems.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel Power Query, or other data transformation tools.
- Experience in automating process visibility and KPI reporting.
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline required.
