Job Title: Data Engineer IV
Location: Cincinnati, OH – Onsite 4 days/week

Overview The Data Engineer IV serves as a senior-level contributor within the Enterprise Data Products team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data solutions across Payments and Treasury Management domains. This role bridges the gap between business strategy and data engineering execution, leveraging deep SQL expertise, automation capabilities, and large-scale data migration experience to deliver enterprise-grade data products that drive operational efficiency and insight generation.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills with business acumen—working closely with Finance, Treasury, and Technology partners to enable accurate, timely, and secure data movement across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute large-scale data migration initiatives from legacy platforms (DB2, Oracle) to modern cloud or distributed environments.
• Design, build, and optimize high-performance ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
• Perform complex data analysis on commercial data (Payments, Entitlements, Treasury) to identify automation opportunities.
• Create and interpret detailed data flow and architecture diagrams to support solution design and modernization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate data needs into scalable engineering solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reconciliation through rigorous validation and testing frameworks.
• Define best practices for data modeling, version control, and data lineage documentation.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to integrate data processes into CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

Qualifications Required:

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development, or database engineering.
• Strong proficiency with SQL (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server) including query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Proven track record of large-scale data migrations across heterogeneous systems.
• Solid understanding of Payments and Treasury Management systems.
• Strong analytical and communication skills to engage with both business and technical teams.

Preferred:

• Proficiency in Python or other ETL scripting languages.
• Familiarity with data modeling frameworks (e.g., Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault).
• Experience with automation frameworks for testing and reconciliation.
• Exposure to Java and WebSphere Application Server (WAS 9) environments.
• Understanding of metadata management and governance tooling (e.g., Unity Catalog, Alation).
