QA / Release Manager

Location: Onsite – Cincinnati, OH

Industry: National Banking / Financial Services

About the Role:

A leading National Bank is seeking a QA/Release Manager to take on a leadership role in overseeing software quality and release management for mission-critical banking applications. This is an opportunity to build and lead a high-performing QA and release team while driving best practices in testing, automation, and release governance.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a strong background in quality assurance, release management, and team leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring that all software releases meet quality, compliance, and performance standards while mentoring and guiding a new team.
Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy
  
  • Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers and release specialists.
  • Establish QA and release management best practices, standards, and metrics.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, development, and operations teams to align release processes with organizational strategy.
• Quality Assurance
  
  • Oversee functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
  • Drive adoption of test automation frameworks to improve speed and consistency.
  • Ensure QA processes meet compliance and security standards for financial services.
• Release Management
  
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage software releases across multiple environments.
  • Ensure timely, stable, and compliant releases in highly regulated environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement of release pipelines and change management processes.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in QA, release, or software delivery roles.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience managing QA/release teams.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, test automation frameworks, and release governance.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience coordinating large-scale releases in regulated industries.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and ITIL-based release practices.
• Knowledge of compliance, risk management, and security frameworks.
