The Senior Cloud Engineer will execute best practices within our public cloud environment. The ideal candidate has experience in modern cloud practices ranging from micro services based architectures, cloud infrastructure services, guardrails, and identity. This role requires implementation and execution experience to ensure success in our transformational journey.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Hands-on role responsible for implementing and maintaining new features within public cloud infrastructure.
• Lead the design and development of scalable Terraform modules, promoting infrastructure as code and advancing our cloud strategy.
• Build cloud-native services to support application teams and contribute to the development of cloud infrastructure automation.
• Automate processes while achieving operational excellence, ensuring systems are maintainable and scalable.
• Support application teams in leveraging cloud products and services, enhancing internal customer experiences.
• Participate in communities of practice by contributing to and following standards, reviewing others code, and sharing knowledge.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for the team to reference and share with our internal customers.
• Provide technical support to regulatory agencies, external auditors, and internal auditors, as required, to respond to audits and examinations of the Bank's control environment.
• Mentor and develop the skills of junior team members through coaching and training.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 5 years of hands-on devops engineering experience with a strong focus on Python.
• Experience Sentinel Policy has Code in production environment.
• Experience with AWS organizations and policy guardrails (SCP, AWS Config)
• Demonstrated understanding of Infrastructure as Code best practices and strong experience with building complex Terraform modules.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and scripting
• Basic knowledge of SDLC and agile methodologies
• Experience with Git, AWS serverless technologies, containerized workloads and Jenkins orchestration is a plus
• Experience deploying production applications into cloud environments, AWS certification(s) is a plus
• Financial industry experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
