Main Function: Build scalable backend infrastructure and shape SRE practices for a modern debt collection platform.   

Role Overview
As a Platform Engineer, you’ll split your time between backend development (80%) and DevOps/SRE responsibilities (20%). You’ll not only build the backbone of our Python-based infrastructure but will also shape the foundation for our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.

  
What You’ll Focus On

• Backend Development: Implement Python/Django applications with a focus on DB performance optimization and scalable, maintainable API/SFTP integrations.
• DevOps & Infrastructure: Maintain and optimize our AWS and Kubernetes (EKS) environments; manage developer workflows, CI pipelines, and alerting systems.
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively manage and monitor our Postgres DB, handling index management, sharding, and partitioning for optimal performance.
• Impactful Leadership: Lead initiatives to improve infrastructure, uptime, and operational practices, with significant impact expected in your first 6-12 months.

• Backend Expertise: Strong experience with Python/Django, API/SFTP integrations, and feature development.
• DevOps Proficiency: Comfortable managing AWS environments, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Github Actions, Postgres, and Redis.
• Scalability Experience: Proven ability to build resilient, maintainable backend solutions and integrate SRE practices.
• Technical Ownership: A senior engineer or staff-level candidate with a hands-on approach, ready to lead by example and introduce scalable engineering patterns.
