The Opportunity
Are you ready to apply your mechanical expertise to Australia’s leading semi-trailer brands? We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team at the Direk Service Centre facility. This role supports Freighter Group's strategy to be the premier supplier of equipment, parts, and services across Australasia. Whether you are a trade-qualified mechanic or a skilled assistant, we offer a stable environment where safety and quality come first.
Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Services: Perform allocated mechanical tasks on trailers and transport equipment, including servicing and reconditioning brakes, suspensions, axles, air systems, and electrical components.
• Quality & Safety: Ensure all tasks meet high standards for quality and efficiency while maintaining a safe, clean workspace.
• Operational Support: Accurately record materials, complete task documentation, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Team Collaboration: Assist teammates and work with service and sales teams to promote integrity and continual improvement.
• HSE Compliance: Report all incidents and near misses, wear correct PPE, and participate in regular safety initiatives.

About You

• Qualified & Experienced: Ideally hold a trade qualification or equivalent with experience in automotive, heavy vehicle, or transport maintenance.
• Technical Expertise: Knowledge of trailer brakes, air systems, and general heavy vehicle repairs.
• Teachable & Collaborative: Must be willing to take instruction, work well in a team, and communicate respectfully with others.
