Freighter Group, a leading name in the Australian commercial vehicle industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven State Manager to lead our substantial Melbourne branch. The Role:
As the State Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance and profitability of the Melbourne branch. You will provide strategic leadership, foster a positive and productive work environment, and ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales targets, improve service efficiency, and optimise parts inventory management.
- Sales Management: Drive sales performance, develop and maintain strong customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
- Service Management: Oversee the service department, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance, and optimising workshop efficiency.
- Parts Management: Manage parts inventory, ensure timely parts availability, and optimise parts sales.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 70 employees across sales, service, and parts departments.
- Financial Management: Monitor and manage branch budgets, control expenses, and ensure profitability.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on branch performance, analyse market trends, and identify areas for improvement.
About You:
- Proven experience in a senior management role within the trailers, commercial vehicle, automotive, or related industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a large team.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Excellent understanding of service and parts operations, with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Tertiary qualifications in business management or a related field (desirable).
