Mercer is part of NZ Panels Group (NZPG), the nationwide leading manufacturer and distributor of interior products — including pressed decor panels, benchtop surfaces, sinks and taps, commercial washroom products, and particleboard flooring.
 
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to lead our Production and Warehouse teams (approximately 18-20 people) at our Christchurch site. You'll provide day-to-day leadership, engagement, and direction across manufacturing and warehousing operations, ensuring the team hits its operational performance goals while keeping safety and quality front and centre.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and managing the day-to-day activities of the Production and Warehouse teams
• Championing a strong safety and quality culture across the site
• Driving continuous improvement — refining processes and reducing waste
• Managing costs and site budgets effectively
• Identifying training and development opportunities for your team
• Engaging, motivating, and inspiring staff to perform at their best
• Providing clear daily direction, planning, and communication to keep operations running smoothly
• Reporting on site performance to the NZPG GM of Manufacturing

 
What We're Looking For

• Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• A genuine continuous improvement mindset
• A strong, demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
• The ability to inspire, motivate, and get the best out of a team
• Excellent planning, organisation, and communication skills
• Experience in stainless product fabrication/manufacturing or distribution is advantageous
• A manufacturing or engineering qualification is advantageous
