About the role:
Based in East Tamaki and reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller is a pivotal position that will lead, mentor and develop the finance team to build capability, as well as the below key responsibilities:

• Manage all general ledger activities, balance sheet reconciliations, tax compliance.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, preparation of financial statements, board reports and annual reporting.
• Prepare detailed monthly management accounts, providing clear commentary and insights on financial performance.
• Manage finance operations including, receivables, debt collection, and accounts payable.
• Lead the forecasting, monitoring, and management of Group cashflow.
• Manage foreign exchange exposures and hedging strategies to minimise financial risks.
• Oversee the annual budgeting process, working with departmental stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Develop and implement financial controls, processes and reporting improvements to support operational improvements and drive financial efficiency across the business.
• Support financial systems development and contribute to projects as needed.

About you:
You’ll be an experienced Financial Controller, preferably with knowledge of the manufacturing industry. You will also:

• Be a qualified accountant (CA or equivalent) with at least three years' experience in a similar financial control/finance manager role within a complex organisation. Manufacturing experience an advantage.
• Have strong technical accounting knowledge, with proven experience in management reporting, audit coordination, tax compliance and statutory reporting.
• Possess proficiency with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Demonstrate good communication and relationship-building skills for working with internal teams and external advisors.
• Provide a practical, solutions-focused approach to improving processes and controls.
• Have experience preparing budgets and managing cash flow forecasting.
