Personal Tax Manager
Location: Luton (Hybrid)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + Excellent Benefits

WestonBrook Associates are delighted to be representing a highly respected and growing firm of Chartered Accountants seeking to appoint an experienced Personal Tax Manager to join their established tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of private clients, trusts and estates whilst enjoying genuine progression opportunities within a supportive and flexible working environment. The successful individual will play a key role in delivering both compliance and advisory services to a varied client base, including high-net-worth individuals, directors and owner-managed business owners.

The Role
As Personal Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients and acting as their primary point of contact for all personal tax matters. You will oversee compliance work, provide technical guidance and support the continued development of junior members of the tax team.

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates
• Acting as the principal point of contact for clients, trustees and professional advisers
• Overseeing the preparation and review of personal tax, trust and estate tax returns
• Managing trust and estate compliance obligations, including income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax matters
• Identifying tax planning opportunities and assisting with advisory projects
• Dealing with HMRC correspondence, enquiries and disclosures
• Providing technical guidance to clients and colleagues on personal tax, trust and estate matters
• Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior tax team members
• Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met whilst maintaining high technical standards

About You

• CTA qualified, or ACA / ACCA qualified with significant personal tax and trust experience
• Strong experience gained within a UK accountancy practice or specialist tax practice
• Excellent technical knowledge of UK personal tax, trusts and estate taxation and inheritance tax 
• Experience managing a personal tax client portfolio
• Previous experience supervising and developing junior staff
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
• Familiarity with tax software including CCH, IRIS, TaxCalc or similar packages
