Private Client Tax Manager or Assistant Manager

WestonBrook Associates are delighted to be supporting this highly regarded and prestigious Central London based independent accountancy practice in their search for an experienced Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join its expanding private client team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong tax professional to work closely with the Directors and Partners and advise an exceptional portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, families, and trusts.
 
The Role
 
Working as part of a collaborative and well-established tax team, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of private client tax compliance and advisory services to an esteemed client base with complex tax affairs.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, families, and trusts
• Providing personal tax compliance services, ensuring all returns are prepared and submitted accurately and within deadlines
• Advising clients on residency and domicile matters and the associated UK tax implications
• Delivering tax planning advice across capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, and wealth preservation strategies
• Supporting clients with succession planning and estate planning matters
• Advising business owners and entrepreneurs on tax-efficient structures and reliefs
• Liaising directly with HMRC on behalf of clients and managing enquiries where required
• Working closely with Partners on complex advisory assignments and bespoke planning projects
• Maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted adviser on both taxation and wider commercial matters
• Keeping abreast of changes in UK tax legislation and identifying planning opportunities for clients

About You
 
To be considered for this role, you will ideally:

• ATT and/or CTA qualified with at least 4+ years private client tax experience within a respected accountancy practice
• Possess strong technical expertise across personal tax compliance and advisory work
• Demonstrate experience advising on residency and domicile issues, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, trusts, and entrepreneur-related tax planning
• Be confident dealing directly with high-net-worth individuals and business owners
• Have excellent communication, relationship-building, and client management skills
• Take a proactive, commercial, and solutions-focused approach to tax advisory work
• Be capable of working closely with senior stakeholders and contributing to the continued growth of the private client department
