Practice Accountant - Mid tier firm

Are you an experienced Senior accounting professional looking to progress your career in a well sized and established accountancy practice? This highly successful and award winning Chelmsford based firm are now seeking a suitably qualified (ACA or ACCA) individual to take up a position that offers an excellent blend of accounts preparation, client engagement, and audit & advisory work whilst being able to develop and progress within a high-quality practice environment.
 
The Role
 
You'll manage your own client portfolio while working closely with a diverse mix of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and local organisations across multiple sectors.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Review and prepare year-end statutory accounts in accordance with FRS 102-1A as well as computations for corporation tax returns
• Gain oversight of the production and delivery of monthly and quarterly management reporting 
• Reviewing quarterly VAT returns in readiness for submission to the HMRC 
• Participate in the firm's provision of audit services for in scope clients as well as tax planning as required 
• Providing on‑going support and advice to clients
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
• Contributing to a collaborative, supportive team culture

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 3+ years' practice experience working for a UK firm in the capacity of Senior Accountant or Semi-Senior looking to step up.
• Confident in the provision of full year-end accounts and ideally audit related obligations  
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Organised, detail‑driven, and committed to delivering high-quality work
