Are you an experienced Accounts & Audit professional looking to progress your career in a supportive and well‑established accountancy practice? This highly successful and prominent Central Essex based firm is seeking an ACA / ACCA qualified or finalist Accounts and Audit Senior to join their friendly and stable team.
This position offers an excellent blend of accounts preparation, audit work, client contact, and advisory exposure—ideal for someone looking to develop within a high-quality practice environment.
 
The Role
 
As an Accounts and Audit Senior, you'll manage your own portfolio while working closely with a diverse mix of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and local organisations across multiple sectors.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 Section 1A
• Leading audit assignments from the initial planning phase through to completion
• Managing a varied client portfolio
• Reviewing work completed by junior team members
• Providing on‑going support and advice to clients
• Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
• Contributing to a collaborative, supportive team culture

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or finalist with strong practical experience
• At least 3+ years' practice experience in a UK firm and currently working as an Audit Senior, Accounts Senior, or even an experienced Semi-Senior looking to step up.
• Confident with a mixed audit and accounts workload
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Organised, detail‑driven, and committed to delivering high-quality work
