Our client is a well-established Australian-owned company specialising in innovative wastewater and water treatment solutions. Operating within an ISO9001 accredited environment, they design, manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of potable water systems, domestic and commercial wastewater treatment plants, servicing solutions and spare parts across Australia.
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and commercially minded Technical Sales Engineer to join their Queensland team.
About the Role
This role is ideal for a technically minded sales professional or an experienced wastewater technician who enjoys working directly with clients, developing practical solutions and driving business growth.
You will work closely with councils, industrial clients, contractors, consultants, installers and developers to identify opportunities, provide technical advice and support projects involving wastewater treatment systems, sewer pump stations, pump pits and associated infrastructure.
This is a diverse role combining technical consulting, account management and business development, providing the opportunity to make a genuine impact while building long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow customer, installer and agent networks across Queensland
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within wastewater and environmental markets
- Conduct site visits and customer meetings to understand project requirements
- Provide technical advice and tailored wastewater treatment solutions
- Prepare quotations, proposals and technical presentations
- Manage existing customer relationships and key accounts
- Liaise with councils, consultants, contractors, plumbers and wastewater designers
- Support project delivery through collaboration with internal technical and operational teams
- Manage warranty enquiries and customer support requirements
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline management and sales reporting
- Attend industry events, trade shows and networking opportunities
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Engineering qualifications or Trade in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental or a related discipline (preferred)
- Experience within wastewater treatment, water treatment, sewer pump stations, pump systems, civil infrastructure or related industries
- Previous experience in technical sales, business development, account management or customer-facing engineering roles
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering documentation
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Current Driver's Licence
- Experience using CRM systems (Sage experience highly regarded)
