We are looking for a senior welder/ boilermaker to assist in the establishment of our brand new operations in Townsville. You will be heavily supported by the Brisbane operations team. You will initially be the sole fabricator on this site however with the intention of growing the team and you becoming the supervisor. 
We supply steel fabricated products to the infrastructure and agriculture industries. 
Salary initially will be $55 casual NEG for the right person + super and overtime when required. 
Your duties will include:

• Weld and assemble steel components to produce Flat bars, pipes, and base plates.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings to determine job specifications.
• Operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG*, and stick welders, to join metal parts with precision and accuracy.
• Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, or shaping as required.
• Inspect welds and completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation and report any issues/doubts to the manufacturing supervisor at Pinkenba.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure production deadlines are met without compromising quality.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including the use of PPE and adherence to all relevant regulations.
• Identify and report any material or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Experience

• High-level proficiency in welding techniques, including the ability to produce clean, strong, and visually appealing welds.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Knowledge of welding tools, equipment, and safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and precision.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues effectively
