NEC Project Managers (Various Levels) - Defence
London, Leeds or Manchester

Our client, a leading consultancy, is making a number of appointments across its Defence infrastructure project management capability.
We are interested in speaking with Project Managers at various levels who have strong NEC contract experience and a background in complex infrastructure environments.
Candidates may come directly from Defence or from other regulated infrastructure sectors such as rail, water, utilities or highways, where they have developed strong NEC contract and project delivery experience.
The role
Depending on your experience and seniority, you will lead or support major project management commissions across complex Defence infrastructure projects and programmes. Responsibilities will include:
- Leading or supporting end-to-end project management commissions
- Ensuring projects meet agreed time, cost and quality objectives
- Managing project delivery within NEC contractual environments
- Working closely with clients, contractors and multiple project stakeholders
- Supporting effective contract administration
- Managing project risk, change and performance
- Supporting the delivery of sustainability and Net Zero objectives
- Maintaining appropriate project governance and reporting
- Providing clear written, verbal and presentation-based communication to clients and stakeholders
- Supporting health, safety and CDM requirements associated with project delivery
About youWe are interested in speaking with Project Managers who can demonstrate:
- Relevant project management experience appropriate to the level of appointment
- Strong experience working with NEC contracts
- Knowledge of NEC contract administration, with wider JCT or FIDIC experience also valuable
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders in complex project environments
- A strong understanding of construction health and safety and CDM requirements
- A degree in an infrastructure or construction-related discipline
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- NEC accreditation would be highly desirable
- Professional qualification through ICE, APM, RICS or an equivalent body would be advantageous
Security clearanceDue to the sensitive nature of the projects, applicants will need to meet the nationality, residency and vetting requirements associated with UK Defence security clearance. Specific eligibility requirements will depend on the projects to which individuals are assigned.
The roles will require a combination of office and client-site working, with travel dependent upon individual project requirements.
