Our client is a trusted Construction Consultancy based within Ireland who are Independent and Data Led. Their main vision is to be able to use Data and Technology to help clients make informed decisions faster, better and smarter. They are currently undergoing an exciting growth phase and are seeking a Senior Cost manager to join their Data Centre team and help lead their MEP sector across the UK and Europe.
The Career Opportunity
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the development of state-of-the-art data centres, from project inception to completion, ensuring that each project adheres to budget constraints and high-quality standards. As an integral part of the team, you will also provide strategic guidance, risk analysis, and cost-effective solutions to our clients in the rapidly evolving data centre industry. If you possess a strong background in Quantity Surveying and a passion for driving excellence in pre contract and delivery, we invite you to join the dynamic team and make a significant impact in this exciting and growing sector.
Key responsibilities include;
- The production of feasibility estimates
- Cost planning through the RIBA Stages and advising on design options
- Preparation of tender documentation, tender analysis and preparing tender recommendations
- Compiling contract documentation and administering the contract
- Monitoring costs of projects and their progress in relation to the agreed programme, budget and quality standards
The Candidate
You will have a professional and positive approach with the ability to work as part of a team as well as being self-motivated and proactive in using your own initiative. The ability to build strong relationships and communicate at all levels with all stakeholders is essential, coupled with the future desire to coach and mentor junior members of the team joining later in the year. Having a flexible attitude to work as well as being able to work under pressure and achieve targets, all while providing a high-quality client service whilst contributing and upholding the reputation of the organisation. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of successfully managing the cost, procurement, and commercial aspects of data centre construction projects.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate;
- Previous quantity surveying experience in a consultancy or client side organisation or with a developer.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Working experience of data centres/hyperscale data centres or other energy intense engineering projects.
