The role
Due to ongoing success and strategic growth plans, they are now looking to appoint an Energy Networks Director to lead and expand their high-performing team. The Energy Networks division has been pivotal to the company’s progress, delivering advanced analysis in network planning and design, data analytics, and innovative service and tool development.
This senior leadership role is ideally suited to an experienced professional with a deep understanding of the energy networks landscape, excellent consultancy awareness, and a strong desire to mentor, lead and inspire a growing team of expert engineers. You’ll also play a central role in client engagement and business development.
Duties and responsibilities include;
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Energy Networks team
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team culture
- Drive business development by identifying new opportunities and building a strong project pipeline
- Maintain and enhance client relationships, ensuring a deep understanding of their current and future needs
- Represent the business at key industry forums and events
- Guide project delivery and provide input on complex technical and project management matters
- Lead recruitment and training efforts to support ongoing team growth and capability
- Support mentoring and career development of colleagues
- Contribute to annual strategic planning and play a key role in its successful implementation
- Stay attuned to industry trends, innovation and regulatory developments
About you You’ll bring technical expertise in power system planning and analysis, a solid grasp of the GB power system, and a proven track record of leading successful teams. You should be as comfortable managing people and projects as you are engaging with clients and identifying new opportunities.
Essential;
- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing high-performing technical teams
- Strong track record in client engagement and business development
- Ability to cultivate lasting, mutually beneficial client relationships
- Deep technical knowledge of power systems, with experience in the UK energy market
Desirable;
- Previous experience within a consultancy environment or working with consultancies as a client
- Well-established professional network and a strong industry profile
- Commercial acumen, including familiarity with project budgeting, contractual obligations, and risk mitigation
