The opportunity
As part of their planned growth, we are seeking a forward-thinking, people-focused Internal Communication Manager to elevate how this organisation connects, informs and inspires its people. You will play a key role in unifying and strengthening the internal voice of the business, supporting a culture of transparency, trust and engagement.
There is significant investment being made in the communications function, and this role is seen as vital in supporting both cultural evolution and the organisation’s 10-year growth plan.
Reporting to the Head of Comms you will help design and deliver a people-first internal communications strategy that aligns with business goals, supports change and transformation, and fosters a shared sense of purpose across all levels. You will partner with senior leaders, HR and operational teams to ensure messaging is clear, consistent and meaningful, enabling every employee to feel informed, involved, and inspired to become tomorrow's ambassadors of the business.

- Create and deliver an engaging internal communications strategy aligned with business objectives and the employee value proposition.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, supporting communication through change, growth and cultural development.
- Develop compelling content and campaigns that inform and engage employees across channels including email, intranet, live events, video and digital platforms.
- Lead on employee engagement initiatives, amplifying employee voices and helping to build a strong, values-led culture.
- Ensure clear and timely communication during periods of organisational change or transformation, helping to manage uncertainty and build resilience.
- Measure the impact of internal communications activity, using insights and feedback to continuously refine the approach.
- Own and manage the internal communications calendar, coordinating messaging across departments to avoid overload or inconsistency.
- Help plan and deliver the comms strategy for the company awards.
- Collaborate with Marketing, HR and business leaders to align messaging and ensure a joined-up experience for employees.
- Champion inclusive communication practices that reflect the diversity of the workforce and enhance belonging.
- Develop playbooks and guidance to equip managers and leaders to communicate confidently and consistently.
- Support the development and rollout of key internal platforms such as the intranet, internal newsletters and employee surveys.
- Manage content planning and tone of voice, ensuring communications reflect the company’s brand and values.
The candidate We’re looking for an empathetic and confident communicator who understands how great internal comms can drive connection, performance and cultural alignment.
- Proven experience in internal communications, employee engagement or a related field - ideally within professional services, consultancy, or the built environment sector.
- Strong holistic understanding of communication strategy, change communications and employee engagement best practices.
- Skilled in developing impactful messaging across multiple formats and channels.
- Demonstrable ability to work at pace, juggling priorities and working collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong writing and editorial skills, with a flair for storytelling and tone.
- Insight-led approach with experience in tracking engagement and acting on feedback.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, and supporting others to do the same.
