They are now seeking an experienced Project Director to join their Project Management team in the North of England. Working alongside the National Lead for Stadia and the Regional Director this pivotal role will focus on helping develop their sports stadia team in the North, driving the successful completion of a diverse range of high-profile projects that will redefine the world of sports and create a lasting legacy for generations to come.
The Role
This role sits on the regional senior leadership team and will be responsible for a team of Project Manager’s leading on existing sports stadia projects and future projects that will host major sporting events.
Main purpose of the role;
- To lead and coordinate project activities, ensuring good communication and adherence to governance processes.
- To understand, anticipate, inform and deliver great outcomes for their clients, every time, everywhere through your team.
- To drive exceptional delivery, health & safety, commercial, risk management and quality performance throughout the project lifecycle from pre construction stages to delivery.
- To develop a team of Project Management professionals with a strong pipeline of work across the sports stadia sector.
- Lead the team and grow the business unit by attracting talent and delivering great work for a very busy set of clients. Have string input on bids and help win new clients.
Key accountabilities;
- Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters through your team.
- Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project.
- Overseeing project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
- Overseeing the procurement of resource on a project.
- Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team.
- Monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
- Monitoring and advising upon project finances.
- Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
- Preparing formal project progress and other reports.
- Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
Business development to include;
- Identifying opportunities to develop new business with new and existing clients.
- Assisting in the production of bid documentation.
The Candidate The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a consultancy or sports stadia environment and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.
Desired experience includes;
- Ideally a construction related degree or a similar construction related qualification with extensive technical delivery experience of sports stadia.
- Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal.
- Must have construction experience and the right to work in the UK.
