About the role
Your daily responsibilities will include designing engaging, learner-centered programs aligned with the Institute’s Learning and Teaching Framework. You’ll employ a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to foster student engagement and support learners in achieving their goals.

You’ll be responsible for assessing and monitoring learner progress, ensuring assessment practices adhere to principles of assessment and rules of evidence (ASQA). This involves developing or modifying assessment tools to meet individual needs and participating in validation processes to ensure assessment quality and consistency.

Building strong relationships with industry and community is essential. You’ll liaise with enterprises and community groups to ensure your teaching reflects current industry practices and community values. The role also requires travel to remote communities, so flexibility and a willingness to work away from home are important.

Through your teaching and connections with industry and community, you’ll help students build practical skills, confidence and pathways for their future.
You’ll also contribute to programs that are relevant to local communities and strengthen connections between students, industry and the wider community.

About you
We are looking for a passionate Lecturer who can inspire students, deliver innovative programs, and build strong industry and community connections.
  
You’ll bring

• Understanding of the principles of assessment and the rules of evidence and contribute to the development of assessment tools, or modify existing ones, to suit learner needs and specified context.
• Maintain vocational competency relevant to own subject area; keep up to date with industry changes; participate in relevant industry and community events/networks/consultation.
• Ability to use strategies and skills to ensure learner engagement and achievement of leaning outcomes; create supportive learner inter-relationships; use a range of technologies effectively
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
• Liaise with enterprises and community to ensure teaching and assessment reflects current industry practices and community values and aspirations. In addition, participate in enterprise and community networks to enhance own knowledge and skills.
• Hold a minimum Certificate III in School Based Education Support, or a relevant higher-level qualification.
• Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122), or a higher-level training and assessment qualification, or be willing to obtain the required qualification within a negotiated timeframe.

Experience in education, training, community services or a similar environment will be well regarded, as will experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and organisations.
