Purpose of the Position
Assist the Director of VET Business Operations in achieving the goals of the VET Division and drive growth to enhance Batchelor Institutes market position. The Executive Support Officer is instrumental in the positive promotion of Batchelor Institutes services to achieve business growth by generating new revenue streams. This will include identifying and managing bids for employment, training, and other outsourced opportunities. This position is responsible for tender and grant submissions for the VET Division, developing solid administrative systems to support this and assisting the Director of VET Business Operations with administrative tasks on key projects including assisting preparation of reports. The Executive Support Officer ensures the implementation of and adherence by the VET Division to institute wide policies and standards.
  
Duties

• Leading the VET Divisions grant and tender development, including the development and management of a coordinated process that captures relevant opportunities and converts them into outcomes.
• Supporting the Director VET Business Operations to identify and introduce new business opportunities to drive growth and enhance Batchelor Institute market position and reputation.
• Manage workflow including prioritising and monitoring important issues and deadlines.
• Prepare briefings, reports and applications for funding opportunities as required.
• Coordinate, organise and gather information from Divisional teams and key stakeholders to prepare bids/ pricing proposals.
• Consult with key stakeholders in strategic business planning activities to develop competitive strategies, clear objectives, supporting activities and a plan that focuses on the achievement of business growth.
• Respond to verbal and written requests from internal and external clients.
• Maintain administrative functions and processes that support the VET Division.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager.

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Indigenous Australian families, communities, and organisations.
2. Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.
3. Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities.
5. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
6. Demonstrated expertise in tender and grant writing and submission, including the use of software to support collaborative and efficient proposals and record keeping at a high level.
7. Demonstrated time management and organisational skills, including proven experience of working within a deadline driven environment.
8. Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience working within the Vocational Education and Training sector.

Selection Criteria – Desirable

1. Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the Institute’s structure, functions, and objectives
2. Familiarity with the Indigenous Education environment highly regarded.
3. Tertiary Qualifications in Business Administration (Certificate IV or above) or demonstrated significant experience at the same level.
