Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for the coordination of the General Services Officers (GSO) team in the day-to-day functions of services across the campus. These services may include cleaning, repair & maintenance, gardening and building services as well as providing in-house training and leadership to your team.

Duties

• Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Facilitate overall day-to-day operation of the GSO’s including coordination and supervision of the team to ensure work is completed to a required standard.
• Coordinate rostering, prioritization and allocation of work activities for the GSO team across the campus.
• Report to the Facilities Manager on incidents of vandalism, breakages and grounds, maintenance requirements including any Work Health & safety (WHS) requirements.
• Ensure campus assets and equipment are maintained in a safe operational condition to meet all grounds, maintenance and cleaning requirements.
• Maintain records of servicing, inspections, and repairs in accordance with asset management protocols.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by your line manager

Selection Criteria

1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in culturally diverse teams within the social, political, and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, communities, and organisations.
2. Self-motivated and proven ability to work both independently and to lead a versatile team.
3. Demonstrated ability to maintain and update asset registers and related documentation.
4. Proficiency in using facilities management or maintenance tracking software. Manage Engine as an example.
5. Sound experience in the use of information technology, especially using the Microsoft Suite of applications and other operating systems.
6. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
