Purpose of the Position
The Student Enquiries and Support is the primary customer interface between the Institute and prospective and current students. The core functions of the Student Enquires & Support include:

1. Student Support

• Provision of verbal, print, and web-based course information for prospective and current students.
• Dispatch of enrolment and re-enrolment packages to prospective and current students.
• Coordination and provision support for students with disabilities and disadvantaged students.
• Assist with the provision of Student Enquiries & Support. Services

 2. Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Program

• Effective provision of tutorial support to eligible students.
• Improving and enhancing educational outcomes for students.
• The identification of available tutors to deliver tutorial support to student on-campus, remote and or other areas.
• The first point of contact for potential tutors.
• The interface between Directorates and Student Services for provision of tutorial support.

Duties

• Under the direction of the Coordinator, Student Enquiries and Support, the Student Enquiries & Support Officer is the primary customer interface between the Institute and prospective and current students. The core functions of the Student Enquiries & Support include:
• Undertake general administration & reception and be the focal point for student related and/or general enquiries for the Institute.
• Act as the primary contact for prospective student enquiries including by telephone, email and in-person.
• Assist all enquiries as appropriate and direct to relevant staff members
• Assist students with processes related to student administration.
• Assist with Orientation for VET, Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) and ACIKE students, Institute staff and prospective clients.
• Assist with effective and efficient support for students with disabilities and/or who are disadvantaged.
• Assist with the social and emotional wellbeing support to students within the residences whilst on campus.
• Work with Academic staff and students to ensure that appropriate tutorial support is provided to students as needed.
• Promote the understanding of tutorial assistance under the Scheme and provide information sessions to staff and/or students as required.
• Assist with the monitoring of the ITAS database of appropriately qualified potential tutors and ensure this information is available to Academic Staff.
• Provision of interpretation and dissemination of up-to date information regarding the Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme.
• Undertake other duties within the range of skills associated with this designation as directed by the line manager.

2. Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication which can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all educational levels.
3. Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated initiative and managing workload priorities.
5. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures.
