Purpose of the Position
The VET Manager Business Operations will have responsibility for overseeing the administrative support functions to staff in the VET Division. The position reports directly to the Director of VET and will be required to develop and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including VET Trainer and Assessors, administrative staff across the Institute, and include government and non-government personnel.

Duties

• Coordinate, manage, or produce complex reports and other written materials relevant to any of the VET core business units and requirements.
• Support the Director with ASQA standard reviews and rectification of non-compliance.
• Support the Director to develop, maintain and review policies and procedures relating to VET.
• Develop, review and deliver an administration orientation for all new VET staff.
• Provide leadership, training and management of administration staff including monitoring of workloads and workflows; timely performance management; identification of training /development needs and assist in the coordination of required training / development.
• Oversee the introduction of new administrative functions as required.
• Identify any training and professional development needs for administrative staff and take responsibility for ensuring that professional development opportunities for all administrative staff occurs on an equitable basis.
• Liaise closely with relevant staff in the Finance Division in relation to principles for invoicing, procurement, tenders and payment of services
• Oversee the development of Fee-for-Service projects.
• Contribute to the introduction of new administrative functions as required.
• Respond to complex verbal and written requests from internal and external clients.
• Develop and deliver Professional development activities related to VET.
• Maintain administrative functions and processes that support the VET Division.
• Develop, maintain and review administrative functions as required.
• Respond to complex verbal and written requests from internal and external clients.
• Follow up on matters arising from meetings for the Director of VET if required.
• Any other duties as identified and negotiated with the Director of VET

Selection Criteria

1. Tertiary Qualifications in Business Administration or significant high-level experience in Administration and Quality Standards.
2. Demonstrated experience in project management.
3. Demonstrated experience with the development and maintenance of professional/administrative standards
4. Demonstrated experience with the supervision of a team across different geographical locations.
5. Demonstrated experience to work effectively within the social, political and cultural environments of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians.
6. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to maintain collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external clients and stakeholders in an environment requiring cultural sensitivity.
7. Demonstrated initiative, and managing workload priorities.
8. Understanding of Work Health and Safety principles and practices, and ability to comply with Institute WHS Policies and Procedures
