�� About the Opportunity
WrightBuild is delighted to be partnering with a well-established Earthworks & Civil Engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator & Senior Estimator.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for delivering earthworks, enabling works and civil engineering projects across the UK.
Working within an experienced pre-construction team, you'll play a key role in producing accurate, competitive tenders, identifying value engineering opportunities and helping secure a strong pipeline of profitable work.
If you enjoy pricing complex projects from first principles and have a solid understanding of earthworks methodologies, plant, materials and construction techniques, we'd love to hear from you.
�� The Role
You'll take ownership of the estimating process from initial enquiry through to tender submission, working closely with operational teams, suppliers and clients to produce commercially competitive bids.
�� Key Responsibilities
✔ Prepare detailed first-principles estimates for earthworks and civil engineering projects.
✔ Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
✔ Complete quantity take-offs and develop accurate cost estimates.
✔ Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
✔ Develop labour, plant and material pricing.
✔ Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
✔ Liaise with clients throughout the tender process, responding to commercial and technical queries.
✔ Assist with project handovers following successful tenders.
✔ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
�� About You
✔ Previous estimating experience within Earthworks, Groundworks or Civil Engineering.
✔ Strong understanding of first-principles estimating.
✔ Experience using estimating software such as ConQuest, Causeway, Candy CCS or similar.
✔ Confident using Microsoft Excel and digital take-off software.
✔ Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
✔ Strong communication and organisational skills.
✔ Able to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines.
