Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, Groundworks - West London

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join a well-established Groundworks & Civil Engineering contractor with almost 20 years' experience delivering projects across the UK.

Working across the commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure sectors, the business has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality Groundworks, RC Frames, Basements, Highways and Hard Landscaping projects.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Groundworks QS / Estimator.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing tenders and estimates for new projects.
• Commercial management of Groundworks and Civil Engineering contracts.
• Producing valuations, variations and CVRs.
• Procuring subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitoring project costs and commercial performance.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably.

Essential Experience

• Previous Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating experience.
• Groundworks experience is essential.
• Good commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
• Experience preparing tenders and managing project costs.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience

• Experience working for a Groundworks or Civil Engineering contractor.
• Knowledge of RC Frames, Basements, Highways or Infrastructure projects.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
