Do you want your data skills to do more than just improve a bottom line? Asthma affects nearly 2.8 million Australians with children being the most impacted. At Asthma Australia, we are the leading charity dedicated to helping people live freely, unrestricted by this condition.
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our collaborative, cross-functional team. In this pivotal role, you won’t just be crunching numbers; you will be the Subject Matter Expert for our entire data ecosystem, uncovering evidence-based insights that directly inform strategy and improve health services.
The Role: As our Data Analyst (reporting to the IT Manager), you will bridge the gap between technical data and real-world impact. You will tell the story of our data, transforming raw information into clear narratives that key stakeholders—from internal teams to government funding bodies - can understand and act upon.
You will:
Manage and optimise: maintain and troubleshoot data pipelines in Snowflake and ensure data integrity.
Visualise: Design impactful dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
Analyse: Use statistical techniques to identify trends in community health and program impact.
Communicate: confidently share your analyses with key stakeholders, verbally and via formal reports
Innovate: Write scripts (SQL, Python) to automate tasks and drive efficiencies.
About You: You are a curious professional who wants hands-on experience with enterprise systems while contributing to a meaningful cause.
You have:
A relevant degree and 3+ years of experience in data analysis or a similar role.
Strong technical skills in SQL and Snowflake (or similar warehousing tools) are essential requirements to be considered for this role.
Proficiency in visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau.
A passion for storytelling—you can explain complex data to non-technical audiences.
Experience in the health or NFP sector is highly regarded.
Benefits of working for Asthma Australia:
Positive, purpose driven culture and collaborative work environment
NFP salary packaging available
Flexible work arrangements
Well-being initiatives and EAP
Regular informal social activities
