What’s the opportunity
Reporting to the Supply and Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in prioritising Subway’s market and category requirements across the ANZ region. Your team will be responsible for leading the development of market approach strategies for priority categories that are locally managed, ensuring alignment with business goals and franchisee needs.
You will oversee the distribution of products to all Franchisees, ensuring seamless supply chain operations and optimal inventory management. Additionally, your team will drive commercialisation projects that support Subway’s strategic initiatives, enhancing supplier performance, product quality, and availability. Through these efforts, you will contribute to improved operational efficiency and business growth, delivering tangible value to Franchisees and strengthening Subway’s market position in Australia and New Zealand.
What you’ll do
You will manage the Subway operations relationship across the APAC region, with a primary focus on Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). In this role, you will lead the development and execution of the supply chain market approach, encompassing distribution, commercialisation, and locally managed categories.
- Strategic Leadership: Your leadership will ensure alignment with Subway’s business objectives and financial targets, while responding to evolving market needs. You will drive cost efficiencies, enhance key performance indicators (KPIs), and implement process improvements that support sustainable growth and operational excellence across the ANZ region.
- Department Strategy & Change Management: You will lead the implementation of departmental strategy and change initiatives in collaboration with the Subway Market Supply and Operations Manager, supporting your team in developing and delivering these plans effectively.
- Category Planning & Execution: You will oversee the execution of plans for all prioritised locally managed categories and provide support for regional and global category strategies within the ANZ market.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Escalation Management: You will build strong, collaborative relationships with the Subway team and act as an escalation point when needed. Your role will ensure that plans are both strategically sound and operationally feasible, aligning with supplier capabilities and team capacity.
- Team Leadership & Development: You will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of procurement and supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Strong experience in managing procurement and supply chains team internationally but in particular the ANZ region
- Proven experience in the procurement of distribution services, including sourcing, inventory control and & supply Chain
- A sound grasp of the food industry, ideally in a retail, QSR or hospitality environment, is highly beneficial, as is having worked in a multi-country environment
- Experience of working in an environment where strategic category management is well embedded
- Strong understanding of demand planning, purchasing, and logistics to support consistent product availability.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Leadership and people management experience
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills; able to challenge and influence the strategic development of the business and to communicate with the diverse network of stakeholders that comes with working in a franchise network.
