Senior SharePoint Migration Lead / Technical Consultant

Role Overview
 
Our client is seeking a Senior SharePoint Migration Lead / Technical Consultant to support an enterprise SharePoint and Microsoft 365 migration initiative.
This is a hands-on role requiring a consultant who can lead stakeholder discussions and business activities while also executing technical migration work. The successful candidate will own the full migration lifecycle, from discovery and planning through migration execution, validation, UAT, and production cutover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder workshops, and migration planning sessions.
• Conduct SharePoint content inventories and migration assessments.
• Define content, metadata, permissions, and security mappings.
• Execute migrations using ShareGate and SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT).
• Perform test, pilot, production, and delta migrations.
• Validate migrated content, permissions, metadata, and site structures.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and perform remediation activities.
• Coordinate offshore migration resources and provide technical guidance.
• Lead UAT, defect management, business sign-off, and post-migration support.
• Maintain migration documentation, status reporting, risks, and issue tracking.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of SharePoint experience, including enterprise migration projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with ShareGate and SPMT.
• Experience with SharePoint Online, SharePoint On-Premises, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with OneDrive and Microsoft Teams migrations.
• Expertise in content inventory, migration assessments, and source-to-target mapping.
• Strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy, permissions, and governance.
• Experience with migration validation, reconciliation, and remediation.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Proven experience leading requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and UAT activities.
• Experience coordinating offshore or distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Quest, AvePoint, Metalogix, or similar migration tools.
• Power Apps, Power Automate, or SPFx experience.
• SharePoint development background (.NET, C#, JavaScript, React, Angular).
• Financial Services industry experience.
• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
