Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior IT Backup Analyst to support a large-scale OSFI / IT Risk and Compliance program within the banking sector. The role will focus on gathering and organizing technical information related to IT infrastructure and backup environments, maintaining project data, and producing clear tracking and reporting for the project team.

This is an analyst-focused role rather than a senior backup engineering position and is ideal for someone with strong Excel/reporting capabilities and foundational IT infrastructure knowledge.
 
Responsibilities

• Gather detailed IT infrastructure and backup information from technical teams
• Maintain project trackers and analyze data using Excel, including PivotTables
• Organize large volumes of technical information and identify gaps or inconsistencies
• Prepare status reports, presentations, and documentation for project stakeholders
• Support IT risk, compliance, and OSFI-related project activities
• Coordinate with infrastructure, backup, risk, and project teams to track deliverables

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience as an IT Analyst, Infrastructure Analyst, Backup Operations Analyst, or similar
• Strong Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, data tracking, organization, and reporting
• Good PowerPoint and documentation skills
• Foundational knowledge of IT infrastructure and/or backup technologies
• Excellent communication, coordination, and attention to detail
• Ability to gather technical information and translate it into structured documentation and reports
• Banking, financial services, IT risk/compliance, OSFI, or other regulated-industry experience is an asset
