Position: Project Manager - Applications (Technical) 
Client: Large Private Sector Client 
Location: Montreal (Hybrid) 
Duration: 16 Months 
 
Background:  A technical project manager for an application migration workstream - someone who owns the plan and dependencies but also has enough application and integration depth to challenge estimates, sequence migration work and assess technical risk directly with the team.

• Distributed / multi-timezone delivery  
• PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile  

Qualifications: 

• Eleven or more years of IT delivery experience, with at least four years in a project management or domain delivery management capacity.  
• Strong technical domain knowledge of enterprise application environments, integrations, dependencies and deployment models, sufficient to challenge estimates and assess technical risk.  
• Demonstrated experience managing application migration, upgrade or platform change workstreams.  
• Proven planning, dependency management and stakeholder reporting discipline.  
• Experience managing delivery across distributed teams and multiple time zones. 
• PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum certification. (Nice to have) 
• Hands-on background in application engineering or integration prior to moving into delivery management. (Nice to have) 
• Experience with application migration or modernisation delivery. (Nice to have) 
• Experience with delivery tracking tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps or ServiceNow. (Nice to have) 

 
Expected Tasks: 

• Own the application workstream delivery plan, including task scheduling, sequencing, resource allocation and milestone tracking.  
• Manage day-to-day delivery activity of application domain experts, analysts and technical specialists across the workstream.  
• Apply technical domain knowledge to validate estimates, sequence migration activities and assess application and integration risk.  
• Identify, log and drive closure of application domain risks, issues and dependencies, escalating to program governance where required.  
• Coordinate application dependencies and interface points with the Infrastructure, Network and MFT workstreams.  
• Review technical deliverables for completeness and quality against defined standards prior to client submission.  
• Produce weekly domain status reporting into the program governance cadence, including progress, risk and forecast.  
• Support scope change assessment and input into Project Change Requests affecting the application domain.
